Busy, busy

Yeah, it is Friday, but man we have a busy weekend, actually a busy month. We have something planned every Sat. for the next month. In the morning I am having yard sale take two at Amy's house (she has more traffic) and we have Girl Scouts Mother Daughter Bowling night in the evening. On top of everything the kiddos are coming down with a spring cold, leaving them cranky. They have sore throats and coughs. Yuck. What is sad about this weekend is I really just want to stay home and in bed and sleep the weekend away, but alas, this is not meant to be. Ever. Why is it that the kids can sleep till 7 on weekdays, but on Sat and Sun they are up before 6.

Also, Josh has been told that he will be mpved into the training officer position after they staff up the jail a bit. That could be as soon as next week, or 6 weeks from now. Who knows. But, he will eventually get on a 8-5 Mon-Fri gig, which means I will not be late for work and Josh can go to church with us again. Which will be nice on about 14 different levels.

Emily had her sock puppet show at school last night. They recieted a few poems and sang a song. It was very entertaining. I will post a picture after I download them this weekend, when ever I can find two minutes to rub together in front of the computer.

We had Buscuit "groomed" last weekend, and they shaved him. He looks pitiful. He also looks so much younger. And an added bonus is the lack of dog hair floating in the air. I don't know if we will shave him again, it was a little extreme, almost like I had shved Emily's hair.

Yesterday was Emily's picture day. They have the class picture and then take the nice picture of of the kid, where the kid actually looks nice, not like a deer in the headlights. Well, we forgot it was picture day. ACK! Emily went to school in jeans and a tee-shirt that is ALMOST too small, with her hair pulled back into a pony tail. I am beside myself frustrated that I forgot. In fact Emily did not even say anything until she was in bed. We sent a check today, hopefully we can still get the class picture. ARG!

Emily's Sandwich

So the other night Josh gets creative and attempts to make sweet and sour chicken. And the rule in our house is you have to try it before you get something else to eat. Mostly this rule applies to Jacob, because if he doesn't like the way something looks he won't try it, even though it might be delicious. So Emily tried the sweet and sour chicken and did not like it. I personally thought it was a little bland, plus I am not a huge fan of sweet and sour chicken. Anyways I digress. Emily tried the chicken and did not like it so we told her to go make herself a sandwich. I was sitting at the table with my back to the kitchen and could not see what was going on, but it was taking her a long time to slap some turkey and cheese on some bread. When she finally came back to the table the sandwich she was enjoying was about two inches thick. She had cut the cheese from a block, rather than using the sliced cheese, and the cheese alone was a half an inch thick. She was so proud of her sandwich and enjoyed it so much all I could do was giggle and take a picture, which she thought was really weird.

SIX FLAGS

Last week Emily was on Spring Break and enjoyed every minute of it. I had to drag her out of bed this morning to get her up and ready for school. Why is it that she can get up at 6 on a Saturday morning but I have to drag her out of bed at 6:30 to get to school? Hmmm

Anyway I took Friday off and the whole family went down to San Antonio to visit Six Flags. I personally don't think I have ever been to a Six Flags, I could be wrong, but...I don't think I am.
The kids have never been old enough to take to an amusment park and have fun with it. So here we go. It was a little overcast and cool. Which was nice, except when we went on the water rides and NEVER dried off. Emily wanted to sit in the front of the log ride, with me. BIG mistake. But we had fun anyways. We took Jacob on the one rollercoaster that he was tall enough to ride and he loved it. I really don't remember much of it becasue I spent the whole time worring that he was going to fall out. Emily and I rode the BIG WOODEN rollercoaster. She is just like me and loves the thrill of a coaster. She gave me a small bruise from holding on to me so tight, But when we got off she was so excited and wanted to go again. We also enjoyed a few of the slower rides. One of my favorite was the Merry Go Round. Small line, long ride. We were the first to pick, and the kids got their choice of animals. Emily chose a "Seahorse" and Jacob choose a pig. Josh and I both were next to them on horses, but we had fun anyways!! Another exciting ride was Scooby Doo. It is like a video game where you hit targets and collect points. We all enjoyed it becasue we all LOVE Scooby Doo!

All in all it was a great day, we had fun, the kids acted as well as a 7 and 4 year old can act at an amunsment park with no nap. I do think we will wait a few more years to return, and hope Jacob grows a few more inches so we can all ride all of the rides.

-----------EDIT---------
Blogger won't let me upload any pictures to this post ARGH!!!!!
